CSE120 Fall 2022 Debate & Final The debate will take place virtually on Thursday, December 2, 2022 and your final essay is due on December 8, 2022 Debate Instructions and Final Essay on the Same Topic For the final essay and in preparation for the debate, in addition to using materials from the texts we have read, you are to find two to three additional sources of information to help you develop your ideas and to support your argument. Both the essay and the debate are part of your final exam. The questions you will be answering include: 1) Is non-violence the best approach to resolve conflict? 2) Is violence the best approach to resolve conflict? Debate Format You will be divided in teams and each team will have 10 minutes to state their arguments. An additional ten minutes will be provided for each team to prepare a rebuttal and to present it. Students who are not part of the debate will contribute by either asking questions or by assessing the teams--these students will create a rubric to determine which team presented the stronger argument. Introduction
Conflict arises as a result of certain disagreement that needs to be solved. Unsolved conflicts can be exaggerated and it can lead to a never-ending debate that makes the existence of the groups together vulnerable and it creates an aspect of destabilization in the society. This occurs mainly when they are incompatibility between the opinion of the principles or interest among more than one party and there can be a series of conflicts arising due to the debates. The unstable and the incompatible situation that arises amongst the two groups can be quite vulnerable that can have negative impact on the resources of the society and can be effectively in tolerated at certain extent. This can have a series of conflicts in terms of principles and interest that can sufficiently shake the domestic life with an effective indulgence and loss of resources. This particular discussion shall effectively high light the effectiveness of violent as well as non-violent approach of addressing a conflict and the effective ways such aspects can be relevant while addressing or solving the conflict.
Non-Violence to Resolve Conflict
Non-violent methods of dissolving a conflict becomes more apparent as it is a relevant that there are no such destruction and their sound aspects which do not have any negative consequences or harms in the society. It is therefore one of the most important and affective way to resolve a conflict that not only addresses the conflict in a more reserved manner but has the high probability of a resolving the entire situation. In a more contemplated aspect, it must be effective to realise the contemplated scenario of understanding the at non-violent methods are more effective in terms of addressing the conflict (Singer et al., 2020). This do not engage in unnecessary loss of resources or any other prospects that are harmful and do have a negative consequence on the society as well as in the domestic life.
