Political Activity:
Definition: Political activity refers to the activity towards the success or failure of a party or a p
olitical group or a candidate of a political office. Employees are restricted to display political posters and stickers in their offices.
Explanation: Staff members of governmental organizations are expected no to interfere with governmental relations and their internal affairs. To maintain the biasness of civil servants, staff members need to be independent of any outside Organizational authority and they must reflect an independent approach. Thus, the staff members of World Health Organization need not obtain any kind of assistance from the governmental authorities or any such officials, for the following:
· To interfere with the internal affairs of the Organization
· To obtain any kind of benefit or promotion or any employment advantage
· To change the action or decision that is unfavorable, example, non-hiring of a staff member’s employment contract
Examples:
· An employee who has signed a letter in order to seek uncompensated services of volunteering from individuals is not to be identified by using their official title.
