Functionalism: Maintains that society is a complex system of interdependent parts that work together to ensure a society’s survival.

Functionalism:
Functionalism is a concept of thinking process proposed by Emile Durkheim, which can allow
social recognition on a large-scale perspective. Further, functionalism allows recognition of important structures, which helps in building and stabilization of society. According to the fundamental theory of functionalism, society is leading towards stage of an equilibrium examples can be company’s response to cater customer’s need to bring balance. This theory suggests that a bunch of interconnected structured leads to the formation of society. Institutions are one of those interconnected structures because they serve the need as well as aspirations of society such as education, finance, legal, marriage, business, non-governmental bodies, mass media, medicines, religion, forces and much more.
The other structure belongs to social facts that serve as a way of imagining and acting developed by society that was there before any living person & shall even remain there after any living being is dead. Other individuals cannot manipulate these explicit objects. This is majorly because these possess coercive effect and are only noticeable when countered by other individual for example, existence of law remain unnoticed until someone breaks it and faces after effects. Others can be religious faith, moral regulations, and social currents like birth and death rate.
