Document2             Assignment  Summary:     For   this   assignment   students   are   required   to   select   three   events   that   drastically   shaped  the  history  of  Africa  and  its  people  today.       Assignment  Details:     You  must  select  three  historical  events  that  dramatically  shaped  the  history  of  Africa   and   its  people   today.  Your   justification   for  why  you  selected   these  events  must  be   well-­‐supported  using  course  content.  Additional   research   is  encouraged;  however,   your   work   must   reflect   the   subjects   that   were   discussed   in   the   textbook.   Your   explanation  must  include  historical  significance  and  evidence.       Historical   significance   relates   to   events   that   resulted   in   great   change  over   long  periods  of   time   for   a   large  number  of   people.   It   depends   on   how   great   an   impact   an   event   has   had   over   the   long   term.     Historical   significance   also   depends   on   the   individual;   therefore,  there  is  no  one  right  answer.  You  will  be  graded  on  your   ability   to   support   your   event   choices.  A   great  way   to  present   this   information  is  by  using  a  cause  and  effect  paragraph  structure.       Evidence   involves   the   interpretation   and   use   of   primary   and   secondary   sources.   Most,   if   not   all,   your   evidence   will   be   from   secondary  sources  namely  the  textbook  and  other  posted  articles  or   videos  found  in  the  course.  When  doing  additional  research,  ensure   that  secondary  sources  come  from  reliable  sources.     Assignment  Outline:     • The  events  must  be  presented  in  chronological  order.   • The  time  line  must  contain  at  least  an  introduction,  three  paragraphs  and  a   concluding  paragraph.   • The  time  line  must  be  550-­‐750  words.     • Time  line  must  be  double-­‐spaced  using  12  pt  font  in  either  Arial  or  Times   New  Roman.   • Work  must  be  submitted  in  Word  format.  If  a  format  other  than  Word  is  used   and  it  cannot  be  opened,  a  mark  of  zero  will  be  given.   • Work  must  be  submitted  using  the  dropbox.  Email  submissions  will  be  not   graded.   • All  references  must  be  correctly  cited  using  MLA  citation.       Time  Line  Assignment

African development shares a history of several chaotic situations caused by social and economical interventions of other nations
. In fact, if chronologically understood, there are three major events in African history that could drastically shape the culture and society of the nation. The first one in this context can be marked as the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade in the late 1800s. This was the movement or rather, business convention which would enforce slavery over impoverished African people. The slaves were carried to the American regions to work on either low wages or on no wages at all. This trade movement actually dated back to the past four centuries but the peak of the same is experienced in the late 18th century only. Some historians view it as a form of massive migration of African people but still, the migration of African people was enforced over them (Frankema, 2015).
    Additionally, it could affect their native culture because as slaves, they had to live in different surroundings. Also, the pressure of field work, low wages, dismayed living conditions, as well as malnutrition were some major encounters which these slaves had to face in this phase of migration and it did not end until the colonization in American regions began taking shape; the settlement of American colonies gave a positive way to shape the native culture of African people in alien surroundings.
