ENG183 Fundamentals of Engineering Midterm ENGR 1182 Fundamentals of Engineering Exam 2 V1 Exam Instructions This exam will last 55 minutes. Save your files often as you create the part and layout drawing. The exam consists of two SolidWorks problems worth a total of 25 points. Problem 1 will require you to create an object using multiple sketch and feature tools including extrude, cut, loft, revolve, mirror, pattern, and/or polygon. Problem 2 will have you create a fully dimensioned drawing file of a different part. If you have any questions about the exam or the wording / meaning of the problem, please ask your instructional team and we will assist you. After you have finished the exam, please save all of your files and submit to Carmen. Problem 1 (15 points) The drawing on the next page is a fully dimensioned drawing of a SolidWorks object. Note that the units on the object are inches. 1. Launch SolidWorks and create a new part file. 2. Save the file with the filename “Exam2_Prob1_YourLastName.SLDPRT” to your PC. 3. Using SolidWorks, create the object shown on the next page. 4. Set the material for the part to Plastics / EPDM. 5. Add a text note that includes your name, mass and volume of the part, and the date. 6. Save the completed SolidWorks part to your PC. 7. Create a PDF of your part in isometric view with the model tree fully expanded and save with the filename “Exam2_Prob1_YourLastName.pdf”. ENGR 1182 Fundamentals of Engineering Exam 2 V1 ENGR 1182 Fundamentals of Engineering Exam 2 V1 Problem 2 (10 points) The part file for you to dimension is provided as Exam2_ObjectToDimensionV1.SLDPRT. 1. Launch SolidWorks and create a new drawing file using the provided part and the OSU Drawing Template. 2. Save the file with the filename “Exam2_Prob2_YourLastName.SLDDRW”. 3. Fill out the title block completely with all applicable information. Note: Refer to the part file to determine the Mass (lbs) & Volume (in^3) of the object. 4. Insert front, top, and right side orthographic views with display style “Hidden lines visible” 5. Insert an isometric view with display style set to “Shaded with edges”. 6. Fully dimension the drawing following all applicable dimensioning guidelines. 7. Save the completed SolidWorks part and drawing files to your PC. 8. Print the drawing file to a PDF and save with the filename “Exam2_Prob2_YourLastName.pdf”. 9. Upload the pdf and all SW Files to the Carmen Assignment – Graphics Exam 2.
