EssayPlanTopic:Developmental Psychology
Introduction
Developmental psychology is a scientific approach aimed at explaining growth, change and lifelong coherence. Developmental psychology exploreshow a person shifts in thought, feeling, and behaviour(McLeod, 2017).Children's free play with other children has fallen sharply over the last half century. At that time there was a strong rise in anxiety, depression, suicide, feelings of helplessness and narcissism in children(Gray, 2011).Children’s playhasmany influences on their physical, social and cognitive development.Playing allows the children, in conjunction with other children or adult carers, to create and explore a world in which to master and overcome their fears. Playing allows children, while mastering their environment, to learn new skills which will improve their trust and resilience in the future(Ginsburg, 2007).
