This learning journal as well as the entire course was very interesting and intriguing to know about systems thinking and its massive impacts for the betterment of the business and operations conducted by the organisations in general. In this competitive world it is imperative for organisation to evolve with the market in order to be relevant. Indeed, learning is new fuel for success of any business. A system framework is a collection of different stakeholders and collaborating with them to emerge better solutions that is not only profitable but also sustainable in the long run. Different stakeholders involve employees, leaders, organisation, government, customers, vendors, suppliers etc who are interconnected so that they produce their own example of conduct after some time. Essentially, systems thinking is an interconnected arrangement of components that is intelligibly coordinated in a manner that accomplishes something.
A framework is more than the amount of its parts. It might show versatile, dynamic, objective chasing, self-saving, and at times transformative conduct. Understanding the system thinking can really help one to contribute more and help to develop a sustainable way of working. One may be able to appreciate more in life as well as create kind of connection that can help find solutions to many social challenges in life. By the virtue of this course, system thinking offers many evidences derived from the research provide us specific scientific explanations to how and why implementing sustainable behaviour affect our mind and body. How these thinking can change our behavioural characteristics. I loved this course because I have a curiosity in this genre of developing sustainable operations and strongly believe emotions will drives actions.
There is no denying to the fact that credible environmentalist, atmosphere specialists and scientist of the world concur that the businesses need to make pressing move to cut down their carbon emissions.
With this learning journal, I have this opportunity to walk through the process of sustainable operations management with a real-life application experience. Eventually, we should reach operations in the business that creates zero emissions, implying that organization must reduce as much carbon as it produces every year. In order to achieve this target organization needs to focus on sustainable strategies, new design approach for their operations and innovation in their products and services such entire business cycle becomes more environmentally friendly and help the planet to recover. Indeed, this objective can be considered as sustainable however, research discloses that this objective is of paramount significance to each individual alive today and for each age to follow. Thus, this objective needs to be on the priority for every organization of today - to follow dedicatedly and come out with ways such that they can reduce the carbon emission with their operations. Truly, we are at the beginning of a fresh era of unparalleled pace and scale of change where we have witnessed nature-becoming enemy if not respected or taken for granted. This phase can be considered as fourth revolution, which is powered by technologies from the physical, digital, and biological spheres. This revolution holds consequential promise for addressing the critical challenge of climate change in environment by developing sustainable operations that can facilitate transformation all across the society and make the world into low-carbon economy.
