Introduction    
Healthcare is a dynamic industry in U.S and has a long history of reforms. It would be essential to understand that reforms have been widely proposed in U.S healthcare system; however, they have been rarely implied. Healthcare reforms are essential in every nation in order to comply with current trends and demands in healthcare. Consumer demands are ever changing.
Therefore, roles of nurses and their responsibilities modifies with every reform introduced in current healthcare system. This paper would discuss the current healthcare laws or federal regulations introduced in U.S healthcare system. Further, efforts would be made to present the effects of these reforms on nursing roles and responsibilities. Likewise, this paper will conclude with the discussion of current trends and growth of nursing practice in next 5 years.

Current or Emerging Healthcare Law or Federal Regulation
American Health Care Act (AHCA) of 2017 is the current healthcare law or federal regulation proposed by the U.S President Donald Trump in 2017. This reform has been presented as one of the well-crafted and best-proposed acts from the President of U.S. This bill was proposed after the partial repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACT), which was implied by the former U.S president Barack Obama. AHCA proposed many reforms to the prior presented ACA with respect to the number of persons covered, reversal of tax increase on the top 5%, cutting of Medicaid payments along with expanding the choice by providing freedom to choose low quality insurance at lower prices (Blumberg, Buettgens, Holahan, Mermin & Sammartino, 2017).
The AHCA proposed that the states would be allowed to be more flexible towards establishments of essential health benefits. Likewise, this act introduced the elimination of employer and individual mandates along with associated penalties, thus, substituting a onetime increase in the premium for about 30%. Further, increased funding to health insurers with stabilized premiums and increased market place participation. Income ceiling was reduced for Medicaid eligibility, along with a reduction in Medicaid payments, relative to the current laws.
