Use the indirect approach – the text mentions this on p. 51 and in Chapter 6 lecture,  I mentioned in class that for Chapter 6 and 7 letters, the indirect approach will be needed, meaning that the request or bad news is preferably in paragraph 3, if the letter is 4 paragraphs long. 1. Use the Buffer, Reasons, Bad News, Closing approach 1. Buffer - One from the list on p. 131 (Figure 7.2) and on p. 132 and 133 1. Reasons – p. 131 (Figure 7.2) and on p. 134 and 135. Be sure to use positive words. 1. Bad News – p. 131 (Figure 7.2) and on p. 135 1. Closing p. 131 (Figure 7.20 and on p. 136. This is where you could mention the coupon. 1. Letter format – Use p. 330 or one of the formats that are on Brightspace. You also have a format from your PC book on page WD 9 or WD 26 (Word – blue-tabbed pages) 2.
