Evaluation Guidelines The final work will be evaluated based on the following criteria: · Acquired knowledge (25%): the knowledge acquired throughout the course of the subject will be evaluated through the analysis of the theoretical data shown in the project presented by the student. · Development of the Subject (25 %): the interpretation of the thesis subject by the student and its development will be evaluated in a coherent and analytical manner. · Final result (25%): the final evaluation is based on coherent solutions applied to solve objectives set out in the paper. The presentation must be conclusive and formatting must meet established parameters. · Additional information and bibliography (25%): additional information regarding the research and subject matter will be evaluated and taken into consideration as a bonus. Introduction
Señorío de Begué is a Spanish company which in involved in the sale and distribution of Olive oil. It deals in quality products and aims at customer satisfaction as its priority. It is planning to expand its business operations to other parts of the world so that international clients can be developed.
Product
Olive oil comes in two varieties: traditional and virgin. Both the varieties are made with utmost care and cold press. Fresh olives are procured from farms and farmers are made partners in the growth so that they can remain motivated to cultivate best quality of olives for the production of oil.
Sector
Jaen is responsible for supplying 20% world’s demand of olive oil. 50% of the production is from Spain only and rest is traded at international level. Spain itself is the world leader in producing olive oil
Competition
As a producer Spain has competition with Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Italy and Portugal. America is the biggest importer of olive oil followed by other European countries and Asia.
External situation in
European country
Mostly European countries have saturated markets and there is less scope of expansion. As compared to other countries Germany has scope for virgin olive oil and organic olive oil. The imports are growing by 3% in terms of volume in the country but with slow rate. Olive oil is not produced in the country (CBI. EU, 2020). Therefore, it is dependent on imports for 100% usage. Italy is the major exporter in Germany and hence there will string competition with Italian products. Italy imports from Spain and Tunisia and exports to other countries in high-volumes.
As per Article 5 of Regulation (EU) No. 29/2012 there are requirements for labelling to sell the product in the country mentioning all the ingredients, quanity and nutritional value, category of the ingredient, net quanity, price, date of manufacturing and date of expiry, direction for use and storing the product (IPD, 2020).
The documents required to import in Germany are technical data sheet, certificate of analysis, certificate of origin, allergen declaration, gluten free declaration, element of any hevay metal declaration and other mandatory certificates as demanded by the authorities.
