Final Research Paper Instructions

Each student will be required to develop and write a comprehensive research report that will include the following sections: 1) abstract 2) introduction 3) method 4) results 5) discussion 6) references 7) figure and/or table. This is an individual assignment. Each student is responsible for submitting a final paper. The final paper must adhere to APA format and include all of the sections of a formal research report, as outlined by the
APA Publication Manual
(6^th
ed.). This assignment will be worth 125 points.
THE FINAL PAPER IS DUE BY 11:59 PM ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12^TH.
This assignment will be submitted electronically through Blackboard (it will be an assignment under the “Content” tab). You will also need to email me an electronic copy of your final paper as a Word.doc.

You will need to consult the
APA Publication Manual
(6^th
ed.) when writing this paper. You should also read and refer to the Manuscript Template, which is posted on Blackboard under the “Content” tab, in the folder labeled “Research Paper”. Lastly, please review the Sample Research Paper (also available on Blackboard) for further clarification and guidance.
Note, you will also be required to visit the Toro Learning Center to have your paper reviewed by a student tutor prior to the deadline. You will then need to incorporate the suggested revisions into your final paper. This is a separate assignment worth 10 points
(detailed information about the rough draft assignment can be found on Blackboard). If you have any questions or concerns about this assignment you are encouraged to seek help from the professor and/or your fellow classmates. You are also encouraged to use available class time to work on your manuscript and seek feedback.

The grade you receive on this assignment will be determined by its adherence to the following guidelines, as well as the quality of thought and writing.

· The paper should be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point font, adhere to APA format, and be free of spelling and grammar errors.

· The research should be presented and discussed in a thoughtful and intelligent manner.

· The paper should include a title page and be appropriately formatted, numbered, and ordered.

· The study abstract should range between 150 and 250 words and briefly highlight the four main sections of the manuscript.

· The introduction section should be at least five pages in length, but no more than 10 pages.

· The method section should contain the appropriate labels and provide detailed information regarding the construction and implementation of the research. This section should be a minimum of two pages.

· The results section should include the appropriate statistical analyses and be at least a page in length.

· The discussion section should be between three and five pages in length (no more, no less).

· The reference section should be correctly formatted and include at least 15 references, which must also be referenced in-text.
