Find three examples of e-health—one that is credible, one that is questionable, and one that is clearly a fraud designed to sell a product. Present your findings and reasoning. This is a critical thinking and common sense exercise.
Telemedicine is broadly defined as the use of technology to connect with patients in a variety of ways, from remote consultations to patient information portals to sites like WebMD.
E-health and telemedicine are interchangeable terms here. Telemedicine is basically anything where technology is used to assist the health of a patient who is not physically present.
Remote doctor consultations through certain websites, for instance, would definitely fit the bill. A doctor or other health practitioner posting medical advice in a forum or on an informational website would count, such as WebMD and the like.
Critical thinking steps:
1. Identify and clarify the problem
2. Gather information
3. Evaluate evidence
4. Consider alternatives
5. chose and implement the best alternative
