The aspect has been vehemently influenced by several theories understandings frameworks and approaches that have been developed over time to explore the context of childhood care and education. The historical influences on childhood care and education in Australia greatly depends on the fact how children have been viewed, treated and educated. This aspect of the treatment with the children has an effective association with the histories of social welfare, cultural movement’s, religion and politics that effectively influence the curriculum of early childhood education in Australia. It is significant to understand the educational history which has got an important contribution towards the present aspects of education and will also help to nurture the future prospects in early childhood curriculum.
The divergence in pedagogy throughout the history has been contemplated with the beliefs that have shaped the field of early childhood education throughout the history. The effective areas that have influenced the pedagogy and the curriculum of the early childhood education were the view of the child, the role of the families, educational practices and programs, impact of socioeconomic status and social influences and custodial care or education.

One of the significant figures during this time was John Dewy. He was one of the most influential contemporary educators who had made a great contribution in the field of childhood education.
