attributes such as the web site design, ease of use, information quality, trustworthiness,

security, payment options and social network presence. Employ at least five reference articles

in your review.



Create an evaluation matrix based on the factors you uncovered in your literature review.

You should group similar attributes in a number of key categories. It is important to include a

quantitative method for evaluating each attribute such as a score out of 5.

Part B: Use your evaluation matrix to critically appraise the top 10 e-commerce sites in

links to appropriate sections of those sites to highlight good or bad design.

The report should be presented professionally, have a cover page, table of contents,

introduction include Part A literature review and Part B evaluation of the 10 websites. In the














appendix you should place your final evaluation matrix. References should be included using

the Harvard method.

Ecommerce industries and websites are a major boom in today
’s business environment. It consists of purchasing goods and services online. It is due to innovative technology and internet services which has helped to create a platform for ecommerce market (D’silva et al., 2010). Further, the growth of ecommerce is unpredictable and can be observed in electronic, hardware, apparels and tourism industry (Chanana & Goele, 2012). There are various facilitators of ecommerce which helps in massive penetration of internet for accessing the website and book orders via desktops, laptop and smartphones. Hence, it is due to the advancement in internet which has enabled the ecommerce business to grow globally (Strauss et al., 2007). According to the statistics, the ecommerce sales globally has increased to $4938 billion in 2021 compared to $4248 billion in 2020. Further, the ecommerce industry is expected to increase to $7391 billion by 2025 (Chevalier, 2022). Also, it is due to covid19 the customers are inclined towards online shopping resulting in the growth of ecommerce companies globally. It is quick and automated shipping which is expected by the customers now a days (Smyth, 2021).
We will now discuss the top 10 e-commerce sites operating universally and also emphasize on the various attributes by evaluating them based on a scoring matrix. Numerous online platforms are operating worldwide which are as follows:
eBay
eBay is an online company in terms of merchant sales. The company facilitates online B2B and C2C sales in United States and globally.
Flipkart
Flipkart is an Indian e-commerce company that started its business by selling online books. Flipkart is the virtually disrupted ecommerce site in India where customers are making cash on delivery and receiving the product at their homes (Dubey, 2018). Since it wanted to enhance the business, it started selling fashion products, groceries, lifestyle, and electronics products.
Alibaba
Alibaba on the other hand is a company which is a Chinese company that deals in selling products that are generally C2C and B2B online.
Snapdeal
Snapdeal is an Indian company that offers its customers a wide range of assorted products sold online. The company specializes in selling a wide range of fashion apparel, home décor, and general merchandise items.
Target
Target is an American supermarket chain of departmental stores that were able to make all its 1900 stores an online based platform (Petro, 2021).
Nykaa
Nykaa is also an Indian e-commerce company that deals with selling beauty products, fashionable apparel, and wellness products through various online platforms such as mobile apps and websites. There are three divisions of Nykaa stores which are Luke, Beauty kiosk, and on-trend.
ASOS
ASOS is an e-commerce platform that sells men's and women's products online. It is also the biggest online retailer in the United Kingdom. Recently, the company have launched an Artificial Intelligence built app which is called Fit Assistant which supports the customers to find fashionable apparels before they book the order. The customers can choose the apparel based on the size, colours making it a customized ecommerce platform (Wright, 2019).
Woolworths
Woolworths is an Australian supermarket chain of grocery stores and deals in various products such as liquor, home décor, electronics and also invest in various shopping centers throughout Australia. As of 2021, Woolworths was able to observe a whooping 75% jump in e-commerce sales from $2 billion to $3.5 billion. Further, there was an increase in the web and app platform by around 26% through its 12 million customers usage (Chanthadavong, 2021).
Argos
Argos is also an e-commerce business that is UK-based and deals with selling various types of products such as electronics, furniture, toys, furniture, handicraft products, and various other appliances to the customers. Hence, Argos has branded itself as the business of innovation and technology which uses shopping experience (Rigby, 2019).

1 MG on the other hand is a healthcare company which is based in India and deals in selling online pharmaceutical products to customers. The company also provides various services like e-pharmacy, diagnostics, e-consultation via web-based platforms and e-journals for the customers and various stakeholders.
