For this week's Sunday Reflection #4 assignment, I would like for you to reflect on an experience or set of experiences where you have seen the concepts from Chapter 4 come to life. You might choose work or some other type of organization. Mine would refer back to my bike ride projects.
I began doing long-distance bicycle rides with my undergraduate students in 2013 as a way for them to practice "doing" leadership, teamwork, and organization in a real and interesting way. The bike ride projects bring to life all of the concepts that we study together in our managment and leadership classes as a type of super-concentrated, learning laboratory. After completing 11 long-distance rides, I could give example after example of ways in which our course concepts have become real and how well (or not as well) we put management and organizational theory into action. Emotions, emotional intelligence, satisfaction, commitment, and stress are all concepts that became VERY real to us on each ride as we planned, trained, and completed each adventure.

Here's your assignment for this week's Sunday Reflection #4. Again, you are welcome to type up your response in a 3-page paper.

Think of times when you saw/experienced the concepts from Chapter 4 (e.g., emotions, emotional intelligence, satisfaction, commitment, stress) come to life in an organization with which you are intimately familiar. Reflect on 2-3 examples that are particulalry meaningful and/or memorable and describe the lessons that you took away from those experiences. The examples could be positive or negative, but the lessons that you learned for future situations should be positive.

Week’s Sunday Reflection #4 assignment
Introduction
In this discussion we will try to focus on few real life examples in life during working in various organizations when we have faced stress, satisfaction, went emotional, shown our commitment towards the desired goals and revealed our emotional intelligence. This will help us to study the situations we faced in organizations and how that can be handled prudently. Through this we will also be able to determine the lessons we have learned by being in such situations. 
Situations & Analysis
In one of the Information Technology Company - Accenture, it was stated by the employee that the company is good but there is lot of favouritism. The employee has been working hard in Accenture for more than three years as a Senior Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC. She is a hard working employee and is fully committed towards her work. She work with full dedication and works from home even during the weekends and on holidays to avoid procrastination. But, its recently she has started to lose her motivation as she finds that her merit has declined compared to the merit of a new employee even when her performance is far better than the new employee. Although Accenture offers performance based bonuses to their employees but it seems that her boss indulges in favouritism by treating the team members unequally. Thus, gradually her ideas went unappreciated she started to lose her motivation to participate in any events in Accenture with her boss. She also started to take medical leaves and sometimes submitted the work post cut-off dates due to lack of inspiration Glassdoor.co.in, (2015). 
Bike ride project on the other hand focuses on treating each biker equally and delegates tasks to inculcate leadership skills in them.
