HRMN300 Assignment 1 – Spring 2020 INSTRUCTIONS: • Please submit your assignment as an attachment in your assignments folder. • Your assignment cannot be accepted via messages, email or conferences. • You must submit to the assignment link by the due date stated in the syllabus for credit. A missing assignment will be assigned a 0. • Respond to all four questions below on a new, blank word processing document (such as MS Word). • Develop each answer to the fullest extent possible, discussing the nuances of each topic and presenting your arguments logically. • In addition, include citations from the class content resources in weeks 1- 4 to support your arguments. o Each answer should be robust and developed in-depth. o You are expected to demonstrate critical thinking skills, as well as an understanding of the issues identified. People are the most important resource for an organization, therefore the Human Resource function is to select appropriate person for the organization. Johnson, Lukaszewski and Stone (2016) have stated that recruiting and selection will select the right candidate for the job post through interview as well as a test process will also be done. Training and development is crucial as it will make the candidate understand the job role, organizational goals, helps in developing skill and able to perform task in effective manner. Proper compensation will motivate and help retain the employee for work.

HR has many functional responsibilities and they ensure the proper operation of the organization (Maditheti, 2017). In my present organization, the HR plays two effective functions, which are training, development and proper compensation. Through proper training I have effectively being able to understand my job role and able to perform effectively and that will help me developing in my career. A proper compensation will ensure that employees will provide their full effort in work. Through proper training, the employee’s skills will be developed and they will be able to perform in a better way, and that will be an effective strategy.

In my two previous jobs I have being recruited through interview at one company and trough written test and interview in another one. The first organization, which has only conducted interview, is looking for immediate joiner and thus basic questions were asked and then selected.
