    Defining Terrorism
Key definitions of terrorism may include; the use of violence to frighten the people to achieve a political goal or the unlawful use of threat or violence especially against the state of the public as a politically motivated means of attacks or violent and intimidating gang activity in any particular area. However terrorism is not legally defined in all jurisdictions; but generally it shares some common elements which are use of threat and violence to create fear, not just within the direct victims but among a wide audience. Terrorism may be classified into three categories:
International Terrorism - International terrorism refers to terrorism that goes beyond national boundaries in terms of the methods used, the people that are targeted or the places from which the terrorists operate.
Domestic terrorism - terrorists acts in the perpetrator's own country against their fellow citizens.
Transnational terrorism - Transnational terrorism involves actions in which victims, perpetrators, and sites of violence represent different states and nationalities.

However terrorism is not legally defined everywhere; but commonly it shares some common components which are use of threat and violence to create among individual as well as among a wide population.
Terrorism can be classified into three categories:

(2) Domestic Terrorism
(3) Transnational Terrorism
Defining Counter-Terrorism
Counter-terrorism strategy is a government's plan to use the instruments of national power to neutralize terrorists, their organizations, and their networks in order to render them incapable of using violence to transfuse fear and to coerce the government or its citizens to react in accordance with the terrorists' goals.
1. The police monitor people who may pose a terrorist threat.
2. The government has taken measures to combat terrorist financing.
In counter-terrorist operations, the problem of dividing responsibilities and

a mission is extremely important.

Counter terrorism can be defined as government’s plan to use the resources of national power to prevent the terrorist’s activities in the country and neutralise terrorist organisation and their networks to make them incapable of doing terror activities.
To counter terrorism police monitor people who may pose a terrorist threat and government takes the initiative of combating terrorist’s financing.
In countering terrorism, the problem of coordination and dividing responsibilities among military, intelligence, police and other components involved in the operation is very important.
Global Issues
Terrorism may give sense of insecurities n weakened the economy of particular country in which the radicalism is growing and Safety and security issue of people living in country is a big concern. Terrorism don't allow countries to excel n grow as they are always busy in tackling the terrorists n put all their efforts to neutralize them, Terrorism also hamper the literacy rate of population as Terrorism n education cannot go hand in hand, Basic cause of terrorism is actually illiterate people as terrorist can easily manipulate them. Migration of people of terrorism-affected countries is a global issue now. People want to move form terrorism-affected countries to safer place. Terrorism affected may see decrease in the foreign direct investment. It may also prove harmful for the tourism department. Social demerit is also big issue due to terrorism.

Illiteracy is a global issue which leads to terrorism because illiterate people are easy to manipulate to involve in such kind of activities.
Migration of people of terrorism-affected countries is a global issue now. People want to move form terrorism-affected countries to safer place.
Terrorism affected country sees the decrease in FDI (Foreign Direct Investment).
Terrorism hampers the literacy rate of countries which are adversely affected by it as terrorism and education can’t go hand in hand.
The Australian approach
Australia prevents terrorist activities within the country by shaping the global environment to counter the terrorism.
Australia approach is based on basic element of teaching their people patriotism n not influenced by the extremists ideology.

It advises on the full spectrum of counter-terrorism issues from challenging extremist ideologies through to effective response and recovery in the event of a terrorist attack.

The proposal announced on 2 Oct, 2001 increases AFP powers of search and seizure. AFP can search any kind or property if the property is intended to be used for terrorism.
