Exploring the mental health
Research target
The research target to find out the risk and vulnerability which the elder citizen of the UK is facing. The study additionally is directed to deliver the degree of neglect of mental health that the adult and elders are facing in day to day life. Delivering user-led protection and prevention in the workplace and the personal space of elderly people is the key concern of the thesis study (Carr et al. 2019). Increasing the accountability and responsibility of the policemen and the family members to the elderly people are the key focus of thesis research. It has been seen that elderly people all over the world are facing trauma and abuse which are interrupting their general mental health. On an overall basis, the study is projected to depict the methods of safeguarding and increasing responsibility and professional roles against elder abuse in the UK.
Methods used in directing the research
User-controlled interviews are conducted in order to depict the idea of how elder abuse incidents are taking place in different provinces of the UK. Different stakeholder focus groups are considered while directing the research to the target which includes the practitioners who are responsible for delivering the safeguards against the adult abuse cases(Carr et al. 2019). Through discussions with the facilitate approach has also been conducted in this study which implicated the idea of “sense-making” while conducting the interviews. Vulnerability levels of the adult abuse cases and the risk factors are also taken into consideration while evaluating the data collected from the interviews of the service providers that is the policemen, nurse and other caregivers. ‘Psychiatric disqualifications” are also taken as a good measure while conducting the research.
Implications of the research
Multifactorial abuse, incidents creating trauma are responsible for deteriorating the mental health of elderly people. A support service with the learned advocates can be a key way to resolve the issue which will also help to implement social security with cultural advancement. It can be said that the persons responsible for safeguarding the elderly people such as the police, nurse, and housing parents should act quickly to prevent any case of adult abuse(Carr et al. 2019). “Personal disorders” and also the “written off” are the new addition to the issue that should be carefully mitigated.
Further scopes of the research in day to day health and social services
Implementing the findings of this research it can be said that more information and a data-driven security system must be developed to provide social security to elderly people. The elder person with a history of trauma and previous abuse should be specially taken care of. Establishing and continuing the collective or individual responsibility through the cultural application will be highly valuable in order to create a safe and secure atmosphere for elderly people in the UK. “Safety planning” from the government’s side will be a highly beneficial aspect of the thesis study. Moreover, this study can be used as creating adult safeguard and improving the mental health of all age people through building up the mentality of ‘hate crime’.
