In the given contextual investigation it is proposed that I am the HR director of a firm since origin and it is working locally. The firm is intending to grow its branches outside. This particular presentation will cover the HR related issues for the worldwide activity. Staffing the global organisations involves selecting and identifying the people who will be filling up the positions abroad and placing them in the positions.

The methods for staffing global organizations
Ethnocentric approach- hiring management that is of similar nationality of the parent firm (Collings & Isichei, 2018).
Polycentric staffing- it is the international staffing method in which a firm treats each subsidiary as separate national entity
Geocentric staffing- it refers toward the choices that a firm makes in terms of staffing the subsidiaries

There are some of the methods by which staffing for global companies are done such as ethnocentric approach, polycentric staffing and also geocentric staffing. Ethnocentric staffing is to hiring management that is of the similar nationality in terms of the parent firm. Geocentric staffing is an arrangement way for dealing with the staffing appoints working positions to the people who are perfect with the position. Polycentric staffing is the international method of staffing in which multinational firms treat each subsidiary as an unrelated national entity with the individual decision-making authority.

Pros and cons of ethnocentric approach- Easy to monitor the activities but doesn’t support the transfer of local knowledge to the firm
Pros and cons of polycentric staffing- It facilitates organisational learning but limited to the key positions in local operations (Mockaitis et al., 2018)
Pros and cons of geocentric staffing- It is quite flexible but it can be difficult for applying
