Assessment Outline Weighting: 10% Date of Issue: Monday 28th August 2017 Due Date and Time: Monday 11th September 2017, by 8pm (online submission) Submission Format: LMS Online Submission only (technology failure is not an acceptable excuse – see School Assessment policy guidelines)Task Outline Task Format:Persuasive Writing Task - 800 words (not including bibliography) Part One (Recommended 600 words) “Over the course of our lifetime, radio will no longer be useful and will become obsolete.” Students are to write a persuasive extended response where they discuss if they agree or disagree with this statement. They are to use evidence and persuasive writing techniques in their response and provide a brief bibliography (APA format). Part Two (Recommended 200 words) While technology can bring advancement and progress in society it can also bring with it moral dangers and challenges. What are some of these moral dangers and challenges and how should Christians approach using technology? Discuss your answer with reference to scripture. . NOTE: · School Assessment Policy Guidelines apply · Technology failure is not an acceptable excuse for students failing to submit tasks on the due date. · Use a clear and easily read font equivalent in size to ‘12 point Times New Roman’ NOTE: Overdue tasks: Assessable tasks which are handed in after the due date and for which no valid extension of time has been given, will lose 20% of their assigned mark for each school day that the task is late. After five (5) days a zero is given. It is a requirement that these tasks be completed and submitted in order to fulfil the requirements of the course even if marks have not been awarded.  i.e. One day late, student receives 11/20, deduction of 20% = 8.8/20 Requests for extensions need to be made in writing from the parent/care giver prior to the due date and negotiated with the staff member. OR 1 Mark Your persuasive text is written with some attention to the organization and structure of your argument. There is some effort to include an attention grabbing introduction and/or strong conclusion but the argument could be expanded on. OR 0 Marks Your persuasive text is written with little to no attention to the organization and structure of your argument.
