Biodiversity refers to the variability that exists among living organisms based upon different habitats, nutritional requirement, ecosystem and much more. It would be essential to consider that every specie has a specific niche in the ecosystem along with a specific role and function in ecosystem. Species within an ecosystem may support the biological production as well as regulation throughout the food web in dynamic ways. Biodiversity is essential because,
1. It provides humans with the food sources that are derived from plants. Different crops such as rice, wheat, pulse, corn and much more contributes towards the biodiversity because every crop grows under specified climatic conditions (Conservation Tools, 2020).
2. Further, biodiversity yields human species wood and other forest products such as medicinal plants. Wood is used as timber at construction sites in building new homes and other infrastructure.
3. Likewise, sustainability among food chain will be maintained only if the predator and prey will be available in adequate concentration. Unequal proportions will lead to extinction of respective species.
4. Ecosystem protects natural water sources and helps with the formation of soil, allowing nutrient cycling and storage. This is an essential aspect for living because not every land can be used for cultivation purposes by farmers. Therefore, soil formation and nutrient cycling allows the new and nutrient rich soil to form, which can then be used for cultivation.
Services offered by biodiversity in water are maintenance of marine ecosystem and providing food to the people through availability of seafood. On land, every resource requirement and essentials of living are fulfilled through biodiversity, such as, drinking water from lakes and rivers along with the cultural values derived from nature (Dainese et al., 2019).

Resilience is majorly the ability of the ecosystem to respond with respect to a disturbance through the resistance offered, which in return helps to recover quickly from the damage. It would be essential to consider that ecosystem includes numerous organisms and the interaction between every organism may not be favourable or supportive. Every organism in ecosystem is linked invariably to other; therefore, the ability to cope up with the damage also links. Example can be taken from the grassland where due to draught, the remaining animals may have adopted towards the water scarcity, and they would turn out stronger and better survivors than others (Lemoine, 2019).
