Mental health problems are affecting thousands in USA every year. Mental health includes the emotional, psychological and social wellbeing of person. Studies that 1 in every 5 person in United States have risk of developing mental health issues in a given year. Despite the prevalence of the disease, there is a still a stigma associate with metal health. People fail to understand the sufferings and often discriminate the people suffering from mental health issues in all aspects of their lives (Alegria et al., 2018).
There are several issues which can disturb the mental health of a person, these can be related to their individual self, their community or even the national issues. One of the individual issues which triggers mental illness is substance abuse. Metal health and substance abuse are correlated with each other in majority of the cases (Ridenour et al., 2013). It has been found that one in four people who is suffering from serious mental illness is related to substance abuse.
