Hello, i have an essay due the 24 th november morning. It is about two books that we read in class. I dont know if you can make this assignemnt since you did not read it but i can try to help if any questions and i have book notes that i attached

Students will write 1 paper (approx. 6 – 7 pages) responding to the assigned reading and other class materials. The papers will be graded on (1) how thoroughly you relate to ALL of the assigned reading material and (2) the depth of your own thinking in response to the prompt question. All papers must be handed in before class starts on Nov. 24.

Prompt: Inequality is a major theme in both of the books we have read. Please explain why inequality is important to understanding healthcare policies. Then, give SIX examples of ways in which inequality is manifested in the two case studies we have read (that is, the two books.)

Grading rubric:

Introductory paragraph explaining how inequalities are relevant to understanding healthcare policies. 2 points

Six examples, each worth 3 points.

*Do not repeat examples. For instance, if you use a chapter from Uninsured in America to answer one question, do not use it to answer a second question.

*You may use the websites, class notes and class assignments to flesh out your examples. Do not do any additional research. This is NOT a research paper. Think of it more like a mid-term exam.

*I am looking to see you do more than simply summarize a chapter in a book. A brief summary is fine, but I want to see you focus on the actual inequality and the actual healthcare policies.

*You can choose how you want to set up the examples. One possibility: Identify six types or aspects of inequality and then bring an example from the reading for each. Another possibility: Choose a chapter or a story or incident and then discuss the types and implications of inequality in the chapter or story.

Few years back, I had read this amazing book and with recent series of events in my life, I had to pick this book again, "Inequalities of Aging: Paradoxes of Independence in American Home Care" by Elana D. Buch. For those who judge the book from its cover, let me just tell you there is more to the book than its millennial title! And this pick specifically is very unique, neither it is a fable like the Alchemist nor it is a workbook that preaches various do's and don’ts to live a happy life! Rather it is a book that enlightens about human psychology, explains us how one can improve in life and touch about things that people usually don’t talk about.
The book takes us to the city of one the most critical laboratories for scholarship and ethnography on the social geography called Chicago. There prevails tremendous amount of inequality in the country when we talk about different domain of career and occupation or even healthcare. Author Elena, keeps the focus of the book on the women who are of colour, home care and other aspects taking into consideration female prospective that have a long struggle to cross between neighbourhood and homes. Researcher and sociologist use the term chain of care in order to explain the processes which invites women of colour from the global south to rich cities of the west. Women migrates to these wealthy western cities where they find employment offering care services in grey market. Referring both to the elderly people with colour as well as women are subjected to certain kind of discrimination. Furthermore, there are many organisations which knowingly falling in the trap of unconscious biases.
Second book Life and Death in the Land of Opportunity by Susan Sered and Rushika Fernandopulle. Uninsured in America forms the heart of why majority of people in America are falling through the cracks in accessing the health services. By the virtue of this book author explains the society as an integral part of providing holistic wellness and health care plan. The author extensively research on more than 120 uninsured women and men and dozens of care providers, advocates and policymakers from the around the united states. For those who know me know that I am extremely passionate about the healthcare domain and inclined towards efficiency. This book talks about wages and salary compensation of the workers as one of the critical mechanisms for offering medical and living expenses to people who have either been in some accident or injured in the job. Although it doesn’t contain coverage to all the illness but also certain percentage of cost. It is a vivid and critical book that offers detailed information regarding the concept of healthcare and insurance for all the employees working in the service.
It explains the how hollow the present system is and expose major gaps that is covered in some kind of facade. There are many flaws and known challenges that can impact the well-being and safety of dedicated, diligent and deserving people who may suffer greatly due to system that is in long need of repair and reform. This book is an expose that talks about all the for-profit organisation that need to evolve and emerge stronger in terms of providing holistic and comprehensive health coverage to the citizen and customers
In last decade, there has been a lot of concentration on health and raging inequalities present in the service and care provided. The book is based on the theme of inequalities in the health and is greatly increasing my comprehension of the magnitude and nature of the problem that can afflict the women especially if they are of colour...
