You are required to evaluate the strategies they have articulated and implemented relating to increasing the visitor economy for their region, city or country. 1. Prepare a PechaKucha presentation (20 slides x 20 seconds each) 2. Write a 1500 word report This presentation and report needs to examine the destination agency’s role in promoting, supporting and managing the destination. While the level of importance of these areas will vary for each agency some of the key areas you will need to examine include: • The infrastructure in the destination and what role (if any) the agency plays in developing and managing infrastructure for the destination. • The principles that the agency uses to guide their actions, and how key issues such as environmental sustainability impact on the agency’s practices. • The key destination stakeholders and the role that the agency plays in managing these various stakeholders and their (potentially) conflicting objectives. • The role that agency has in promoting the destination to visitors, and • The role that the agency has in supporting the destination and its stakeholders in hosting visitors, including o setting of policies o strategic planning o provision of coordination of stakeholders, and o developing and provision of training for stakeholders Please note this is not a list of subheadings. After conducting your research you will need to decide on appropriate sub headings for your group’s report. *The Report must be well researched (based on relevant and reliable sources).
