Introduction
Definition of Industry
Equity to free access to most health services regardless of the condition or willingness to pay is the main concept driving Australia's healthcare system. Because funding for this healthcare comes from taxes, this is done. Health services are provided by government-highly subsidised Medicare and prescription programs, while public hospitals and public health care are partially funded by Commonwealth and state funding arrangements (Antony et al. 2019). The schemes are focused on the spirit of making public health open to all people, regardless of their financial ability. The following is an analysis of the Australian healthcare system in public sector where equity, efficiency and positive approach to provide quality care serve as the core essentials.
Outline of Main Activities
At first, it is significant to note here that an integral part of a nation is an effective health care system. The variety and benefits of the three levels of healthcare for the population are enlisted here. Australian public healthcare functions within these three specific points. The first point of contact with the health provider is generally referred to as primary care. This is primarily because at this stage of the reach of activity. It is here that primary care doctors, family doctors or general practitioners can be found.
Unlike secondary health care providers, patients do not need referral to receive services at this level of service, which require their patient to have seen the primary doctors or need a referral to be able to access hospital facilities. Unlike primary care settings, the secondary health care system is a specialist environment with few facilities and a wide variety of services. Tertiary facilities, such as the intensive care unit, neurosurgery, or coronary care, are what are involved in the specialist aspect (Jessup et al. 2018).
Each one supports the clients and the community by exploring these levels of healthcare, as a entity. As a unit, for the community, the various or limited variety of programs provided by primary health care is a bonus. This is simply because the cases that are more common among residents are those that could be handled at the primary level of healthcare adequately and efficiently. Any of such cases are cases of ambulatory patients who should be treated.
The merits of this healthcare system are that it offers the community the ability to access healthcare of high quality without the need to go to the next treatment framework. Primary healthcare delivery in Australia is carried out by concentrating on strategies such as: taking on the population's need, encouraging decentralised health services management, creating a balance between health promotion, preventive care and treatment of diseases and prioritising community education.
Competitive Landscape, Major Competitors and Their Business Models
In the context of examining the competency level for Australian public healthcare industry, the main source of competition remains in meeting out the global norms of care for...
