Introduction
In the context of healthcare services, the conceptual frameworks support the ideology of combining medical and social vision; it is the procedure of linking varying needs of populations living in a society through the best quality care delivered to them. However, in the process of developing social constructionist approach, the active engagement of community people and their mental readiness contributes significantly in the process of healthcare alleviation (Ginter, Roysircar & Gerstein, 2018). The following is the analysis of constructionist theory and the way the paradigms of counselling should relate to the preparedness of the families and patients with regard to understand the medical terms and process of cure that are to be delivered.
The Social Constructionist Perceptions
At first, it is significant to note here that the approaches of social construct are not different from those that are applied in healthcare context. In fact, the medical vision of delivering high quality models of care is driven from the positive interventions that emerge from the communities only (Hirshfield & Underman, 2017). The health promotional activities, for instance, are reckoned as successful only when the communities participate in them and show that they are positive towards new programs and health awareness programs. Thus, the theory of construct works in alignment with the needs and expectations of the communities living in a society.
Secondly, human beings are in the centre of social constructed; societies have them as their primary units therefore, the theory of construct supports the perspective of developing and enhancing the individuality (Southern, 2020). It is the process, in which personal values and dignity of a person should be emphasised in the process of care delivery. However, this liberal approach is a phenomenon of modern biomedicine and knowledge of medical science. This question of individuality is debated over the standpoints such as field of medicines remains under the impression of capitalistic culture as well as it operates under the influence of majority. Instead, it should be guided by the principle of personal approach, designing of dedicated care plans to people in general as well as by delivering holistic model of care.
Additionally, when it comes to the determination of the categories of diagnosis in medical terms, it appears that whole science is driven from some political and strict approach. For example, if someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, it is implied that the person is automatically understood as ‘socially unfit’, which is mere an assumption. Such diagnosis does not lead to any positive interventions in care.
At the same time, this forces medical knowledge appear to be one sided and radical, which is not expected from this sector (Ginter et al., 2018). The modern debates have changed the scenario to large extent, given that the social constructs are achieved only when integration of...
