What is Tata Steel Policy? TATA’s CSR Approach?
Tata steel being one of the biggest brand in its specified sector is very much focused and determined towards its policies and practices. The policy of Tata steel is to conduct the activities in relation to economic progress, social responsibility, and environmental concerns in an integrated way in order to be more sustainable and to meet the expectations of their stakeholders. Tata steel integrates several laws and regulations in its policies that encourage sustainable and ethical practices. The company approach to CSR specifies that the company prioritizes the
benefits of the environment and the community along with its personal profits. The company has framed its priorities in inclusion with the CSR so that it could make ethical and sustainable decisions in the meanwhile. The five major priorities set up by the company are-
· Continue to achieve emission reduction.
· Invest in longer-term breakthrough technologies for producing low-carbon steels.
· Developing new products that would be generating lower CO2 emissions.
· Engaging the whole workforce in this challenge.
· And leading by example within the industry (Lenka, 2019).
All these priorities frame the CSR of the company and heads them towards making ethical and sustainable decision.

The sustainable practices help the subsequent company in many ways just like the case of Tata steel where the company inherited several benefits in this context.
· Be more efficient and competitive: the sustainable practices has helped the company in being more efficient and competitive as the company started channelizing fewer raw materials, less power and more recycling which help the company in enhancing the profits as well as gaining the confidence of stakeholders. Moreover the company also gain more recognition in comparison to competitors who failed to comply with all these (Gal, Akisik & Wooldridge, 2018).
· Improve customer sales and loyalty: the sustainable practices by the company enhances its reputation in the market which in turn leads to improve customer sales and loyalty.

3. Analyse why LCA is a more accurate type of analyse than just looking at the carbon footprint of the ‘use phase’ of a material?
Explain:
Life Cycle Analysis: the life cycle analysis analyses the exact and authentic impact of a product on environment over its complete cycle. It accumulates the impact of the product on the environment right from the manufacture to its usage and disposal.
Carbon Footprint Analysis: carbon footprint analysis is quite different from life cycle analysis it is also termed a greenhouse gas emission assessment. It evaluates the greenhouse gas emission caused by the manufacture of a product or any given activity that contributes to global warming.
Difference:
The major differences between both of them would be considered as the aspects they include.
Carbon Footprints    Life Cycle Analysis
The major differences between both is focused upon the impact they channelizes during their study. As the carbon footprint is focused upon only one environmental impact category i.e. the greenhouse gas emission whereas the life cycle analysis takes into consideration more impacting categories including land use, water use and acidification.
Example: for instance the carbon footprint analysis is aimed at identifying possible ways to lessen GHG emission while life cycle analysis follows the step by step impact in the whole process.
4. Evaluate the contribution of TATA Steel to sustainable and ethical business practices?
Explain how TATA Steel contribute to sustainable and ethical business practices

The company has contributed to sustainable and ethical business practices through focusing on emission reductions, investing on the technologies that would prominently help in producing low carbon steels, developing new products and services that would help in generating lower carbon dioxide emissions through life cycle (Das, 2019).
The company is also following all the steps through which it showcases the lead by examples scenarios. TATA steel opted for several initiatives and policies through which the whole environment along with the communities would be benefitted. The contribution of TATA steel in reducing emissions during the manufacturing of the steels and adopting several measures through which it could enhance these measures is a major way the company is contributing towards the environment. The company takes life cycle assessment approach to showcase the impact of the overall manufacturing process of the environment. All these help the company in establishing itself firmly in the market.
