Introduction
Tourism industry is one of the most profitable sectors in this competitive business world. This report is based on analysing diversity practices involved into the Tourism industry. A Melbourne based Hotel called “Crown Plaza” has been selected for competition of this project. “Crown Plaza” is well known for its rich cultural history. The hotel is planning to reinvent its brand in January 2021. The process of new branding has been termed as “New Modern''. The management team has planned to introduce 30 new accommodations in this plan, as a result total accommodation will be standing at 432 rooms which will be Melbourne’s large single accommodation tower (Crowneplaza.com, 2020). The tourism industry management team needs to work with people from different cultures, communities, religions, and beliefs. This report will show different forms of diversity maintained by Crowne Plaza within their employees and their customers. Moreover, some recommendations will also be provided to the management team to enhance the feasibility of the hotel’s diversity.
Identification forms of diversity
Organisations involved into the hospitality industry need to prioritise workplace diversity and external diversity at the top-notch position. Similar observation has been found in the case of Crowne Plaza Melbourne. The hotel has maintained inhouse and external diversity with highest possible quality. According to a study by Aynalem, Birhanu & Tesefay (2016), in the hotel industry diversity plays a vital role because people from across the world come to a hotel as guests. These guests have different beliefs, cultures, and communities. If a hotel fails to offer guests with people from the same culture then conflict might take place between guests and internal employees.
