Introduction
This assessment concerns with the failure of Levi and discussed the reasons behind this failure. However, this assessment also includes project management activities that help the organisation to recover its failure. At the same time, how this project will be structured has also considered as the subject matter of this individual assessment. This assessment is also discussing five stages of IPECC (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing) that help the management of the organisation to enhance a progressive project that can help to resolve issues that affect the performance and profitability of the organisation. Besides, the success criteria are also included in this assessment to develop this discussion.
Reasons for Market Failure of Levi
Levi recognised as one of the reputed and classic brands of jeans in the global market. However, it has been observed that this brand has been faced with several problems that affect their overall performance and profitability. The rate of sale for the organisation is decreasing consistently and that becomes the serious issue for the management of the organisation. It has observed the sale rate of the organisation was $7.9 in the year 1996 and it becomes $4.3 in the year 2001. The advertising strategy is not suitable for the organisation and that causes a tough competition for the organisation (Conradie et al. 2018).
It becomes the prior reason behind the failure of the organisation. At the same time, Levi is facing difficulties in the sector of designer jeans and that affect the branding of the organisation. The integrity of the brand has also considered as the difficulty for the organisation as the image of the brand is affected day by day. Apart from this, it has been found through an observation that Levi has a public issue with Tesco's supermarket. Tesco blamed on Levi that they prefer the high cost of their jeans product and that affect their customers.
Therefore, Tesco asked Levi to sell their product by their stores. This creates difficulties for the organisation and affects their product selling. Eventually, it affects the rate of sale for the organisation. Apart from this, the lack of advertising campaign has recognised as another reason behind the failure of the organisation. Cost marketing of the Levi is high, therefore, they could not reduce their price where Tesco can import brands from any place in the world and that is the reason they cannot compete for their price tag (Henderson et al. 2019).
Project Management for Success
The project management of the organisation required to focus on suitable plans that can help Levi to resolve their issues and can recover them. First of all, the project manager of the organisation required to frame out a suitable project for the organisation that they could identify their real clients and stakeholders for them. At the same time, they have to pay attention to identify the interest of their customers that affect their rate of sale. Expectations of customers and stakeholders regarding the project should be considered through this project (Luo et al. 2017). The requirements of the project are also important to the success of the project.
To accomplish this objective, the project management of the organisation required to build up a suitable team that can progress the project work. The team should set up by experienced and strong members that help to develop the entire plan. A qualified project manager is also the reason for the success of the project. He can provide skill full lead to the project and that also lead the success of the project for the organisation. Critical milestones of the organisation also include in this project, which help the organisation to recover their issues.
