Introduction
The report addresses the effectiveness and development of a knowledge management plan, which is appropriate for the development of technological solutions. This report aims to identify the core components of the knowledge management lifecycle and the implementation of the knowledge management plan. In this context, the knowledge management lifecycle of Facebook has been accounted for as a case study to identify the core elements of Knowledge Management Lifecycle. Similarly, the report is also conducted for analysing the implementation plan of knowledge management. In this report, a knowledge management plan and lifecycle are recognised.
The key point that refers to the significant role of the cycle, which boosts the efficiency of decision-making capability of the organisation, is detailed. However, knowledge management is the method to create, share and manage the relevant knowledge for the sake of organisational betterment. On the other hand, knowledge management lifecycle is used as a model to pursue the process of knowledge management. The core concept of this report is to identify and analyse the core factors of the knowledge management lifecycle with the help of a case study.
1. Core Components of Knowledge Management Lifecycle
Knowledge management is recognised as an essential factor that helps the organisation to lead its business. Regarding the case study of Facebook, it has found that the organisation has experienced massive success with the implementation of knowledge management lifecycle in its organisational premises. The management of Facebook has focused on the transformation of information and knowledge that helps them to enhance its reputation in the entire world. The knowledge management lifecycle is based on some core component such as knowledge creation, storage of knowledge, sharing the knowledge and utilisation of the knowledge.
Knowledge Integration
The creation of knowledge is the prior component of knowledge management lifecycle where knowledge is integrated explicit or tacit way. However, Facebook has focused on both tacit and explicit knowledge to have massive success in its operational activities in the organisation. Through explicit knowledge, the leaders of Facebook recorded the entire relevant knowledge and shared it with its employees for better performance (Xin, Ojanen & Huiskonen, 2018).
In this context, electronic paper or hard copies are utilised to share the information among employees of the organisation. On the other hand, the senior managers have also focused on sharing working knowledge by making their mind. However, they also pay attention to the implementation of tacit knowledge that helps to apply explicit knowledge in practice among the people associated with the organisation. Thus, this way, knowledge can be rotated by the method of sharing.
Storage of Knowledge
Knowledge storage is an important component that refers to the importance of data storing. However, knowledge is usually stored in a reservoir that can be collect and apply according to the situational requirement of the organisation. This phase of the knowledge management cycle refers to the organisation and data storage process, which is playing a significant role to implement the technological solutions for any situational complications. Data breaching is relevant to the risk factor that can affect the operational activities of the organisation if there is no such strong data storage procedure (Mishchuk, Bilan & Pavlushenko, 2016).
In the case of Facebook, the organisation has a strong data storage capacity. Thus, the company can able to operate more than one billion users daily. Facebook operates its own...
