Measles is a highly infectious virus-bo
rne illness. When an infected individual coughs or sneezes, it travels through the air. Cough, runny nose, red eyes, and fever are all symptoms of measles. Then a rash of small red spots appears. It begins in the brain and spreads across the body.
HPV nucleotide sequence 16 infection is primarily linked to cervical cancer. Construction of an anti-genomic plasmid, followed by rescue using the human “helper” cell line 293-3-46, resulted in recombinant measles virus expressing HPV genotype 16 L1 capsid protein. The recombinant MV-L1 virus replicated just as well in cell cultures as the normal attenuated MV used as a commercial vaccine, but without the transgenic. Ten serial viral transfers in cell culture confirmed MVb2-L1's high genetic stability. The recombinant induced strong humoral immune responses against both MV and HPV in transgenic mice expressing the MV receptor CD46, antibodies against L1 had primarily...
