Media influences curriculum decisions in the work of secondary educators in term
s that it impacts teacher’s identity, engages with parents/carers and networks, impacts relationships between education, curriculum change and teachers’ work and professional practice and Australian professional Standards for Teachers (APSTs). There are two important methods in order to use media in secondary education. The first is that students can learn from media when secondary teachers decide to teach them with the help of media in their curriculum. And the second approach is that both secondary students and teachers learn with media which will help in them in order to take decisions in their curriculum. Media influences curriculum decisions in ways such as computer-based instruction, instructional television or assimilated learning system (AITSL, 2018).    
    Learning with media can be called in terms such as intellectual implements and constructivist learning settings. Irrespective of the methods media has been acquainted with in schools as it is assumed that it may have optimistic vibes on learning, teaching and influencing curriculum decisions. The links between media and the Australian professional Standards for Teachers (APSTs) is that teachers with their educating training, teachers develop numeracy and literacy of students surrounded by their subject zones. Also, secondary teachers are capable of using the Information and Communication Technology in order to contextualize and develop modes and breadth of education of the students (Mason & Hajek, 2020).
    Media which was first utilised with the introduction of magazines and newspapers has been expanded with the passing of time and has been introduced with the inventions of television, radio, Internet and cinema. Media has possible become nearly as essential as clothing and food in the world of recent time. It is a fact that media is playing an exceptional part in reinforcing almost every part of the society and influence almost every decisions of it. It has become the duty of media to update of what is happening around, educate people and influence them in taking decisions in their respective spectrum, and lastly is a mode an entertainment as well. Things happening all over the world can be easily accessible with the help of media. The media has a sturdy impact on social and cultural role of the society. It is extensively used to deliver message in order to construct public outlook and consciousness because the inherent capability of media to spread out to enormous numbers of audience (Stinson & Saunders, 2016).
    The role of media is palpable in education and in decision-making of curriculum toady. This is evident by the number of television sets, computer laboratories and libraries. They have become an important part of the curriculum in education, particularly from secondary education in most of the schools in Australia. Media comes in various forms. Learning and interpreting information by students and influences while making decisions in curriculum by educators are all affected by media and each of its form. Through globalization, media has brought the world nearer. This influenced one of the decisions in curriculum that students from one part of the world in different universities can be connected with to different universities in another part of the world by just simple internet connection. Media has become an integral part of everybody’s lives amidst the information revolution (Stinson & Saunders, 2016).
Impact of the Media Influence in the Work of Secondary Educators
The media education has become more important in the training of the teachers, the
teachers working in the field of education should not stop with them. Other areas are
associated and must be made profound to the needs of young people, such as caregivers or
journalists, producers and broadcasters, and all other media professionals. Taken as a whole,
the media makes available to the individuals, the possibility of getting familiar with the
culture of others, the media culture, the family culture, and the school culture in a spirit of
dialogue (Frau-Meigs, 2006). The most fundamental part of the role of media in the
development of education is that it assists in the recognition of other people’s cultures,
attitudes, castes, creeds, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds so that they should be
able to communicate and work with each other in an operative manner.
Education through media has never become this important for teachers as well. The secondary educators in this field should not stunt their growth with this. The main function is for the development of educational system but also effects the curriculum changes we witness in the education system. All the areas must be made user-interface to cater to the need of young people like carers or journalists, broadcasters and producers along with other professionals from media background. The main concern of media in education is to provide a face for the various cultures, attitudes, creeds, ethnicities, castes and socio-economic backgrounds so that it is possible for them to work in an operative style and also communicate.
