The Manager is stuck in a situation, where she is looking to choose the best option in favor of the company but is not able to carry on due to some illogical policies and concepts of the company. In this situation, she should talk to the supervisor or the senior official regarding the fact that why she has kept this candidate in the priority list, and what is the reason behind finding the candidate suitable for the role. The manager needs to convince the officials to talk to the candidate once to get the better understanding of the issue. The best ethical theory to go along with in this scenario is the utilitarianism theory of ethics. As the theory states that an action is right if it is in the interest or favor of the greatest number of people in the society or the groups (Mulgan, 2019).
