I am not sure how to do this assignment.

Brief Guidelines of Project One for FIRE 371 (3% of semester grade) You are required to write a short financial analysis paper for a publicly-traded US company. Each paper must contain the following ingredients. 1. Obtain the Data (1%) a. Pick a publicly-traded US company ( a lot of companies are publicly traded, examples include Walmart, Apple, Google, Amazon etc) b. Download the firm’s financial data from capital IQ (refer to the manual); 2. Financial Analysis – Excel Worksheet (2%) a. Using the balance sheet and income statement for analysis b. Calculate 8 ratios for the most recent 5 years (these 8 ratios are – current ratio; inventory turnover; receivables turnover; total asset turnover; profit margin; equity multiplier; return on asset; return on equity), and think about the trends c. Submit the excel worksheet to D2L (sample excel file is posted on D2L) Deadline: 10/20/2021 Capital IQ Self Registration: 1. Go to S CSU Library: 2. Choose “Find a DataBase” on the screen, and then go to “C”, you will find “Capital IQ”. 3. Enter their StarID & Password to get the Capital IQ site 4. Click New User and start from here to set up your account. Caveats: 1. Students must create and use their accounts via the library link. If they go straight to Capital IQ, it won’t work. 2. Part of the instructions asks for email address. The students must use @go.stcloudstate.edu (or possibly @stcloudstate.edu if they don't have the 'go' part). That will identify them as SCSU students. Step 1: Go to : www.capitaliq.com Login with your username and password (you should have received an email from S&P for that, each student has an account already set up for them). Step 2: Choose a company and input the firm’s name. I will use LuLuLemon as one example. Input the company name http://www.capitaliq.com/ lhhcd Sticky Note Follow Capital IQ self registration manual to get your username and password to log into capital IQ lhhcd Cross-Out lhhcd Inserted Text Step 3: When you input the firm name, the following is the screen you will see, then click “Compustat Financials/Income Statement”. C lick Step 4: After that, click “Download Financials” and save the files to the location you desire. Step 5: In the financial information you downloaded, the only worksheets we need are the first two sheets – balance sheet and income statement. You can delete other sheets.
