The steps you need to take are outlined below. Before you begin, complete page 4 of your Project Portfolio and read through the requirements of Sections 1,2 and 3 in the Project Portfolio to familiarise yourself with what must be done. 1. Guide workplace communication Complete Section 1 of the Project Portfolio to: 1. research internal and external information needs of your chosen organisation 1. develop and implement communication protocols according to information needs 1. prepare to mentor someone (e.g. junior employee) to achieve the organisation’s communication goals and adhere to developed protocols ·mentor the chosen person. The mentoring session should last for 15 minutes.i The mentoring session may be with an actual staff member or alternatively family, friends, classmates or your assessor can play the role of the person being mentored. 1. Learn to listen –
Generally, people underestimate the nonverbal communication or body language. Some research data shown that active listener plays an important role to any business. It helps the person to understand what’s the perspective of that person and the way s/he wants to approach it.
2. Outline the presentation-
We are in the world of email, massages and instant texting. It’s easy to overlook people’s talking skills until or unless that person, is in front of right platform. Apparently, it is important to focus on bullet point and the response time.
3. Try to improve speaking skills on the voice calls-
Now a days, voice calls are not restricted to only for phone calls. It an essential part of the business communication. It is always advisable that develop a conflict management skill for better a approach.
4. Develop effective writing skills for the Email –
Avoid using long communication. It is always preferable short and to the point email.
5. Work together with remote teams -
During COVID pandemic, it is learned that remote working could be more efficient, if it managed properly. Develop a day interactive session. Discuss project as much as possible.
6. Never neglects critical software skills-
Commonly used software like MS office, Spreadsheet etc has unique set of functions. Either user can do it by manually or simply apply the right formulae, to achieve it. It is less time consuming and more productive.
