It is theoretically located in Central Queensland, Australia. 1.2 Purpose 1.2.1 The purpose of this document is to outline the minimum requirements for the design of a motor drive system, coupled with a suitable electric motor, to drive a secondary cone crusher installed at CQUCoal Surface Operations. 1.2.2 The crusher drive system shall be referred to as, “CMD01”. 1.2.3 It is envisaged that a contracting university team consisting of 2-3 members can design a suitable solution; complete with electrical drawings and a mechanical GA to meet the requirements of this specification. Deliverables from the contracting team shall also include a user manual and any technical datasheets for any equipment in the design. 1.2.4 The Contracting team shall provide a documented response that closely details their proposed SOW. 1.2.5 The contracting team shall provide a detailed response of ANY variations from this specification. 1.2.6 CQUniversity Australia welcomes ideas and comments to this specification. 1.3 Scope Overview 1.3.1 A suitably sized electrical motor is to be proposed by the contracting team to suit the requirements of section 2.4 in this document. 1.3.2 The electric motor must be powered and controlled by a suitable drive system. 1.3.3 The drive system is to be installed downstream from a Substation, as described in clause 2.2.1. 1.3.4 The proposed solution by the contracting team shall comply with the requirements as described herein. CQUCoal Surface Operations Cone Crusher Motor Drive System - CMD01 Revision 0 Page | 6 2.0 SPECIFICATIONS 2.1 Australian Standards 2.1.1 All work under this contract shall comply with the latest revision of all Australian Standards as included, but not limited to, those listed in Appendix A 2.1.2 In particular, the design should strictly adhere to AS4871 where applicable 2.2 Site Specific Power Requirements 2.2.1 The proposed solution shall be compatible with CQUCoal power supply as outlined in the table below: Power Source: Portable Substation Supply Power: 1000kVA Supply Voltage: 3.3 kV (phase to phase) Transformer Impedance of Substation: 4% Number of Phases to drive system: 3 (+earth, no pilot) Neutral supplied to Drive System? No! (I.e. no 3300VAC (Phase to Neutral)) Frequency: 50Hz +/- 0.25% Approximate Fault Level: 27.5kA1 Distance of CMD01 from Substation: <300meters 1fault level is approximate calculated from the transformer size at the upstream substation 2.3 site specific environmental requirements 2.3.1 cmd01 shall be designed to withstand outdoor environmental conditions as outlined in the table below: requirement qualification maximum ambient temp: 45°c maximum 24hr average temp: 35°c minimum operational ambient temp: -5°c maximum humidity for one month: 90% maximum humidity for 24hrs 95% 2.3.2 cmd01 and the proposed electric motor shall be suitably designed to withstand high levels of continuous rainfall. cqucoal surface operations cone crusher motor drive system - cmd01 revision 0 page | 7 2.4 essential data of the secondary cone crusher 2.4.1 the capacity of the cone crusher in metric tonnes per hour is given below. capacity metric t/h setting (c.s.s.) 45 mm 50 mm 55 mm 60 mm 65 mm 70 mm 75mm st ro ke 18 mm 300-350 325-375 375-425 400-450 425-475 450-500 500-550 25 mm 500-550 550-600 600-650 650-700 700-750 750-800 32 mm 650-700 700-750 750-800 825-875 900-950 40 mm 900-950 975-1050 2.4.2 pulley diameter: 485 mm 2.4.3 tenderer is not expected to look into the belt coupling between the crusher and the motor. however, the efficiency of the belt coupling must be taken into design calculation. 2.4.4 tenderer is expected to provide a recommendation on the pulley diameter to be used on the motor shaft. 2.4.5 the tenderer is not expected to look into the mounting details of the motor and hence it may be considered as client’s responsibility. 2.5 proposed electrical motor requirements 2.5.1 the electric motor shall be rated at 3300vac 2.5.2 the tenderer must recommend the power rating to suit the application in the final design 2.5.3 the electric motor is to replace an existing motor coupled to a pulley using a belt drive. 2.5.4 the electric motor shall be capable of withstanding the environmental requirements as described in section 2.3 of this document. 2.5.5 the proposed electric motor shall have a minimum ip rating of 65 (as:60529) 2.5.6 the use of a 6-wire or 3-wire type motor shall be justified by the contracting team. (this will have implications on the drive system) 2.5.7 justification shall be provided by the contracting team which details the reasons and considerations made for the selection of the motor type, size, duty, starts/stops per hour etc. 2.5.8 the use of the proposed motor shall be agreed by the nominated cqucoal representative and the contract team as early as possible. cqucoal surface operations cone crusher motor drive system - cmd01 revision 0 page | 8 2.5.9 the tenderer is not expected to design the mounting arrangements of the motor on the cone-crusher mounting platform and hence it may be considered as client’s responsibility. 2.6 design of drive system cmd01 2.6.1 the power supply of the drive system is to come directly from a bus bar of an assumed upstream substation 2.6.2 the drive system is to be mounted on a suitable enclosure cabint to be banked adjacent to the cone crusher no further than 30meters from the electric motor 2.6.3 the drive system shall be
