SUBMISSION & ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS: You must submit your Word Document by 2pm on Wednesday 11th May 2022 on Moodle. This assignment is an individual assignment where you will reflect on your decisions, actions, thoughts and professional development, throughout your group work within this module. 2 You must submit a reflective report of 1,500 words on the development of your professional skills throughout the LSBU Discovery Project module. To complete this coursework, you must: 1. Write a short introduction that explains the importance of professional development and outlining the main aims of the report. 2. State the importance of being able to identify and solve problems in business and explain how you developed your problem-solving skills in this module. You must provide evidence of any frameworks or processes that you used, in your Appendix. 3. Explain and evaluate the project management skills you have learned through the module. You must provide evidence of any project management frameworks or processes that you have used in your Appendix. 4. Explain how coaching skills can be used to support both individual and team success and evaluate your use of these skills through the module to ensure yours and your team’s success. 5. Write a short conclusion explaining your key learning from this module as identified in your report. ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. You must use Microsoft Word to submit your report. 2. Your report should have a cover page, that has the title of the module and Coursework 2. You should not put your name or student ID on the cover page. 3. After the cover page, you should have a table of contents that reflect your numbered headings throughout. 4. For the main body of your report, all text (excluding headings) should be black Calibri or Arial font style, size 12 with 1.5 line spacing. Headings should be larger and may be black or blue. 5. References start on a new page after the report and MUST be done in LSBU Harvard style (full guides are on the LSBU Library pages online). 6. Your MUST have an Appendix with evidence of your activities throughout the module, where you have developed your professional skills. 3 Assessment Details: Type: Report Resources: Background reading and resources are stated below the marking rubric. Word Count and Formatting Work submitted should fall within 10% of the 1500 words required (between 1350 and 1650 words). For every 150 words above 1650, a 5% mark penalty will be imposed. Work should have a cover page, table of contents and appropriate headings throughout. Font should be black, regular, Arial or Calibri, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing with the exception of headings, which should be larger, and may be blue or black. All students should submit an Appendix, with evidence of the activities completed within the module. Work must be referenced, and neither the refrence section nor the appendix will not count towards the overall word count. Referencing: Harvard Referencing should be used, see your Library Subject Guide for guides and tips on referencing. Regulations: Make sure you understand the University Regulations on expected academic practice and academic misconduct. Note in particular: ▪ Your work must be your own. Markers will be attentive to both the plausibility of the sources provided as well as the consistency and approach to writing of the work. Simply, if you do the research and reading, and then write it up on your own, giving the reference to sources, you will approach the work in the appropriate way and will cause not give markers reason to question the authenticity of the work. ▪ All quotations must be credited and properly referenced. Learning Outcomes This assessment will fully assess the following learning outcomes for this module. • Apply idea generation techniques, and critical thinking to identify key issues and, develop, evaluate, select and communicate solutions to issues within a business project. • Evaluate, elect and apply key project management techniques and tools such as PID, WBS, Gantt Charts, CPA to a business project. • Evaluate and reflect upon decisions and actions to respond more effectively to changes in the business environment • Identify, develop and apply effective and appropriate coaching techniques to enable successful team development and management skills including awareness of personality differences and sensitivity to cultural norms. 5 Assessment Criteria and Weighting Marking criteria have been developed to help tutors give you clear and helpful feedback on your work. They will be applied to your work to help you understand what you have accomplished, how any mark given was arrived at, and how you can improve your work in future. Assignment 2 Criteria and Weighting Each task is being marked according to the following rubric: Task Mark Allocation Introduction • Explanation of the importance of professional development • Aims of the report clearly stated 10% Reflection on the development of professional skills 2. Problem solving skills • Explanation of the importance of identify and come up with new solutions to solve business problems. Explanation of you developed problem solving/ideas generations skills for in this module. • Appendices must be included, providing evidence of the completion of problem solving/ideas generation activities within the module (e.g. problem analysis, ideas generation techniques, and any other relevant activities) 20% Reflection on the development of professional skills 3. Project management skills • Explanation and evaluation of the project management skills you have learned through the module. • Appendices must be included, providing evidence of the completion of project management skills within the module (e.g. Gantt Chart, Project Initiation Document, and any other relevant activities) 20% Reflection on the development of professional skills 4. Coaching skills • Explanation of how coaching skills can be used to support both individual and team success. Evaluation of your use of these skills through the module to ensure yours and your team’s success. 6 • Appendices must be included, providing evidence of the development of coaching skills within the module (e.g. Effective questioning, goal setting, the GROW model and any other relevant activities) Conclusion • Conclusion provides an accurate summary of the key learning from the report 10% Academic skills • Word count within 10% of 1500 words (not including table of contents, headings, references or appendices) • Work logically developed and clearly explained • Use of correct grammar • Use of appropriate academic sources • Use of citations where appropriate to acknowledge sources, linked to references in Harvard style • Use of Appendix with evidence to support claims.
