FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY: EVOLUTION OF THE EUROPEAN PAYMENT SYSTEM (15k-17k) · To start off theres some messy notes that I made , an idea of what I want to write about. · At the end theres a little graph we’ve to follow , to get an idea of what is going to be written – main question , sub question and chapters etc. (I have attached so it can be filled in on the go) Describing the payments system *** What the payments system actually is? Retail payments system – allows transfer of money as a consumer to another consumer Retail vs Wholesale Payments **** Domestic payments vs cross-border payments ****** What does it mean? Why does crossborder matter? mattered before euro and eu ? Why do the payments even take longer in Europe? D) Your main research question Word limit: 30-75 words. E) Your sub-questions to the research question Word limit: 80-130 words. F) Problem statement Word limit: 350-500 words. G) The structure of your thesis per chapter Word limit: 350-500 words. B) Your research topic Word limit: 3-7 words. This is, for instance, the main law, technology or case and the main problem. C) Your provisional title and sub title Word limit: 5-30 words. Try to think of a catchy title that will draw the attention of the reader that also signals adequately to the reader what your research is about. Do not try to make it too long; use a subtitle if necessary. D) Your main research question Word limit: 30-75 words. The research question is the most important part of your thesis, because your thesis revolves around answering it. This is true for every research. Without it, you will not be able to bring your research to its resolution. It is the element that will weigh the most, along with your sub-questions, in the assessment of the quality, merit and feasibility of your proposal. Remember, you are here to receive a law-degree. This means that your research question must, above all, be a legal question. E) Your sub-questions to the research question Word limit: 80-130 words. Your sub-questions are questions in support of your main research question. Their sum should amount to your main research question and their answers should allow you to answer your main research question. Therefore, they cannot broaden or severely limit the scope of the main research question. Each sub-question should pertain to an element of your main research question (explicit/implicit). F) Problem statement Word limit: 350-500 words. The research question you aim to answer must be a contribution to the existing body of legal research. This means it must be current, novel and pertain to a real issue in the relevant area of law. What issue have you identified that you aim to look at? What is the gap in literature that your thesis will aim to fill? Why is your research question important to solve this issue or shed some light on it? G) The structure of your thesis per chapter Word limit: 350-500 words. Explain per chapter in 2-3 sentences the “what and how” of you are going to discuss. This explanation should give us insight into the context, chosen methods and methodology.
