Hardware installation
The hardware installation is not limited to installing a new hardware into the system. the hardware installation a
lso includes its configuration and testing for the system. Whenever we install a new hardware into the system it will be configured and then tested to make sure that it works properly. The hardware can be video cards, power supply, hard drives, motherboard or the system memory. the hardware can be external or internal out of which the internal hardware installation is more difficult.
The external hardware system involves different types of peripherals which are directly connected to the desktop using any port externally. External hardware can be serial and parallel port, Bluetooth, FireWire, PC card and USB. This type of installation can be done by a lay user who does not have much knowledge about the computer. The system must be switched off when we are connecting these types of hardware.
To install a PC card, we must make sure that it is fixed properly in the drive. If it is not pushed down properly into the slot, then the computer will not be able to recognise it. If it is not recognised, then eject the cart and try to reinsert it by pushing it formally down into the slot.
If this process does not solve the issue, then we can check for the power which is supply to the drive. If there is any requirement of the power for the PC card, then the computer will not be able to read the card if the power is down. If the drive...
