ICT302 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Assessment 2 – Group Written Essay & Presentation Overview In the past few weeks, we have covered topics on entrepreneurship and innovation regarding the different stages of a start-up. We have also discussed content on design thinking, creating a business plan, business models and interrelated concepts or models such as the diffusion of innovation and elements of innovation. In this assessment, students are to prepare a written essay, developed in a team of 3 or 4 members to address how a recent innovation fits the models for innovation recognition, and innovation adoption. Timelines and Expectations Part A Total Percentage Value of Task: 30% Group Written Essay Due Week 11 via Turnitin on Moodle Due date and time 24 th September at 23:59pm Minimum of 2,500 words Minimum time expectation: 20 hrs Part B Total Percentage Value of Task: 10% Group Presentation Due Week 12 via Turnitin on Moodle Due date and time 24 th September at 23:59pm Presentation will be commencing during the lectorial and the remaining presentations will be completed on Friday during the webinar at the week. Note: This is the final week of the Trimester, so it is important that students ensure their availability during this period. Learning Outcomes Assessed The following course learning outcomes are assessed by completing this assessment task: LO1. discuss various historical and contemporary ethical theories and how these relate to the social, legal, ethical and organisational issues raised by current practices involving ICT; LO2. critically evaluate the role of professional standards, codes of conduct and legislative/regulatory obligations on the level of professionalism of the ICT industry; LO3. specifically, understand and articulate approaches to currently dominant issues involving ICT, including privacy; intellectual property, freedom of expression, regulation of cyberspace and equality of access; LO4. apply ethical theories and concepts to analyse ICT related ethical dilemmas; LO5. critically review the defining characteristics of professionalism, and how these are expressed in relation to the ICT profession, both by professional societies, and by common industry practice; LO6. critically evaluate and apply the characteristics of innovative ideas that work, and how innovation might be translated into business success through adoption.
