When deciding between two decision-making models or ethical actions, we should always choose the one that does the greatest good and the least harm. Moral-based decision-making model is an example of an ethical decision-making model that has been developed for use in healthcare (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2021). When addressing liability and what acts in an ethical dilemma might help to raise or minimize counselors’ exposure to liability, our model utilizes a deontological framework. While many models include some of these ethical viewpoints, we have discovered that few combine many perspectives into a single decision-making model.
