In chapter 9, we look at global business and ethics. Global business includes all business activities that cross national borders. The accepted standards for society, business, negotiations, legality, and ethics all vary between nations. For this discussion, select 1 country to do some research on (excluding the United States). What are some of the norms for social customs, what is their political system, and give an example of their legal system or an overview of the level of trustworthiness/corruption in their legal system (If you talk laws, an example of 1 law important to business within that country is sufficient, please don’t pull out your spare juris doctorate).

If you’re not sure where to get started finding country information, here’s a few links for you:

The CIA’s World Factbook

The World Bank

Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index

The BBC’s country profiles

Additionally, each individual country typically has its own website with tourism and business information.

Be sure to cite both the textbook and any outside sources used. Your initial discussion post must be a minimum of 450 words.
