"Drug Abuse and Terrorism"
Marijuana is a controversial plant though it is widely used by some as drug but it’s not always
supported by the medical community. Studies reveal that the Tetrahydrocannabinol chemical
released by marijuana is similar to the chemical produced by the human body that helps in the
functioning and development of the brain (Jennifer Welsh, 2014) but at the same time this plant
is also considered harmful for the human body.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages: The medical community as well as Congress in America is in support of the use of
Marijuana because:
- It is effective in relieving nausea and vomiting.
- Safer than many other medicines to treat the same symptoms,
- Can help treat the appetite loss due to cancer and HIV/AIDS.
- It can also help to relieve certain types of pain.
- Cannabidiol chemical found in marijuana prevents the spread of Cancer.
Disadvantages of marijuana are as follows:
- Frequent use of marijuana can affect short-term memory and result in depression.
- Regular smoking of marijuana is dangerous for lungs.
- Smoked marijuana contains cancer causing components.
- It carries the risk of addiction and abuse.
