    There have been cases of unexpected recession faced by the economies of the world due to covid-19 pandemic situation in the global economy. There was a fall in the international trade volume by 21% in the March and April 2020. Further, the cumulative growth rate was -7% which was observed between the period of December 2019 and March 2020. There was a huge decline in trade volume by 3% in August 2020 compared to March 2020 (Barbero, Lucio and Crespo, 2021). Therefore, it was essential for the United States and the UN towards taking appropriate steps for addressing the new challenges related to trade imbalances which occurs during covid-19.
