Introduction

Nursing Leadership
Leadership is the process, under which the leaders get the ample of opportunity to influence the people to achieve a common goal. Leadership can be applied in the universal field. Leadership in the nursing field is a complicated one. Nursing leadership is the multifaceted process, under which a number of tasks need to be performed by the leaders. The task performed by the leaders in the nursing leadership is to provide direction and comprehensive support to the employees in the health field. The factors of motivation, collaboration, teamwork and coordination are the prime factors of nursing leadership. The ultimate focus of the nursing leadership is to achieve the optimal outcome of the patient through the process of guiding the ways of the followers (Weiss, Tappen and Grimley, 2019).
Theories of Nursing Leadership
Theories are the binding structure, upon which the entire concept relies on. To understand nursing leadership in better ways the theories are promulgated (Fast and Rankin, 2018).
Participative Leadership
Participative leadership also known as democratic leadership is the theory, which states that the process of efficient leadership can be achieved when the members of the team are indulged into the decision-making processes of the authority. The sense of inclusion in the decision making process of the organisation gives them satisfaction of working as a team side by side the level of motivation increases among them. The nurses, who participate in the process of participative leadership, perform their responsibility in a far better manner as well as influence other nurses to do so.
Transformational Leadership
The profounder of this theory James MacGregor Burns pointed out the relationship between the team members and their leaders. This theory is based on the four components of leadership those are intellectual stimulation, personal consideration, strong motivation and ideal impact. According to this theory, the nursing leaders need to use their intellectual capability to understand the problem within the team, by the help of the strong motivational components the eradication of the problems needs to be done. The ultimate task is to check if the process of eradication of the problem is effective or not. This rate of success of transformational theory in nursing leadership is high as compared to the other organisations.
Nursing Management
Management is the core structure of every organisation, without proper management of the organisation the probability of the collapsing of the entire organisation is inevitable. Nursing is the crucial department in the hospital (Cherry and Jacob, 2016). The department of nursing management performs a series of functions for the smooth running of the organisation. The functions that are undertaken by the nursing management are taking the decision of the employed nurses, to check the effectiveness of the governance of the organisation on behalf of the nurses and lastly the performance of the leaders to meet the ultimate goal of the organisation. The decision-making includes the planning for duties and responsibilities, financial issues, staff related issues, giving clear direction to the nurses etc.
Theories of Nursing Management
Like every other theory the concept of nursing management is also based on the theories, which ensure that the management takes place with effectiveness (Webb, 2018).
Taylor’s Theory of Scientific Management
According to this theory, the division between the function of workers and the responsibility of the management are two different factors. The manager needs to develop the most appropriate and the systemic way of producing services. They put stress on giving proper training to the employees and in the formulation of the incentive pay band of the employees who work hard for the company.
Administrative Management Theory
The profounder of this theory is James D Mooney, who focuses on four factors, on which the management of an organisation needs to depend for better management. The four factors are coordination, scalar process, line and staff and lastly division of the work among the workers.
Impact of Nursing Leadership and Nursing Management on Patient Care as well as on Nursing
Nursing leadership and nursing management are the correlated factors of the organisation. The mixture of two components in the efficient way has a greater potential to improve the nursing and patient care outcome for the organisation. It is evident that the satisfaction level of the patient has increased by multiple times with the proper management of the nurse. The importance of using the correct form of management is essential for the better nursing purpose. understanding the need of the nurses and letting them go in their emergency time is the example of good nursing management. lacking it can cause a huge gap between the nurses and the management. Suppose when a nurse is in need of going home urgently after finishing the nurses respective duty, it is important for the management to fulfill the request as the nurse has already done the part of duty the nurse is hired for. It can be understood that sometimes the management does not want to let the nurseess free even if the duty time is over due to many circumstances. it is seen that sometimes the fellow nursing staffs is willing to take up the job of the other nursing staffs who needs to urgently leave the hospital once the duty time is over for certain reason like taking care of the family and so on, even then also they were retained and might be the threat of being blacklisted. it is non justiciable on the part of the leaders or management of the hospital to do so. When the management takes care of the fellow nurses by accepting their request for leave in the time necessary when the nurse has already committed, the job will increase the level of satisfaction in them while working in the hospital. with the increment of the level of satisfaction among the nurses in the workplace their performance levels...
