Introduction
McDonalds is a food service retail outlet that started in California, USA in 1954. McDonalds is operating restaurants worldwide, which offers food items, soft drinks, coffee and other foods (McDonalds, 2020). Presently there are 37,855 restaurants, among which 2,770 are company owned and 35,085 franchised outlets in 120 countries with 210,000 employees. The project is about the human resource development, recruitment and selection process of the employees and further information that is provided to the employees after selection, as that will help them to perform the duties in a better way and achieve the organisational goals.
1. Appraising the Development of Human Resource Function at McDonalds
Human resource management is one of the most important parts of an organisation. To compete with the competition that prevails in the market HRM recruits and trains people as they could able to perform well and achieve organisational goals. The proper human resource management can only be achieved through the development of HRM and that will enable to function properly (Gupta, 2017). HRM functions in an organisation by developing a framework that will help the development process of employee’s personal and organisational skills, knowledge and abilities that will help them to perform their task in a better way and that will help them to perform their organisational tasks.
The HRM has many organisational opportunities both inside and outside the organisation, which help them to develop policies, standards and system that helps to formulate strategies and implement in the organisation. The following HRM policies and development is adopted for the retail food counter all around the globe, the McDonalds where the HRM will ensure that standard of service should remain same all around the globe. Irrespective of limited, self-owned counters and large number of franchisee counters, the policies of recruiting, selecting as well as providing training for the development of the employees, remain the same, in order to maintain the uniform standard all around (Duggal & Alexander, 2018).
