1. The play marks a tragic end with violent actions and a mad explosion of misinformation and mistrust. After realizations of the truth, Othello dives into self-reflection and enacts a punishment for his crime of killing Desdemona. In his speech towards the end, he proclaims his love for Venice and that he has faithfully served the country. Just before he stabs himself, he justifies the idea of suicide and compares it with the killing of a malignant and turbaned Turk-the circumcised dog which suggests that he convinces his audiences that he is bound to die because of his actions. However, the important observation is that even in death, Othello seems to be obsessed with reputation. Anxiety for reputation and public image are obvious reasons for the likely tragedy to suffice in the end.
