For this assessment you will need to choose 1 (one) healthcare issue impacting Australians in 2020 (some examples are below – if you choose something else, please check with your tutor).

2.How registered nurses (RNs) help address this health issue, and how they work with others (eg multidisciplinary / transdisciplinary team). You should discuss the different roles of RNs, ENs and PCAs where this is appropriate, with reference to the NMBA Standards of Practice. (10 marks)
3.How nurses use evidence based practice and technology (such as e-health, or new technology) to support people with the health issue (and how this promotes quality care). (10 marks)
4.How factors such as the predicted nursing shortage in Australia, aging population, aging workforce and changes to social or political factors may influence nurses supporting people with your chosen health issue between now and 2050. (10 marks)
Examples of health issues you may wish to choose:•Impacts of global warming (eg fires, evacuations, displacement of communities, pollution; eg mental health or respiratory health – you may focus on one aspect of this)•Immunisation and education for vaccination within communities•Aging population & increasing levels of chronic conditions associated with aging, such as dementia(s).•Number of people living with chronic pain within the Australian community.

Please note: When referencing the NMBA standards you should discuss how a nurses’ practice relates to the standards – not ‘cut and paste’ the standards from the policy document. There are three steps in the submission of this assignment.
1: Decide on the health issue on which you will focus your nursing practice assignment (check with your tutor or ask via Brightspace if unsure of topic), and formulate a one-page essay plan.
2: Submit your essay plan (not draft assignment) including 2-3 references in APA format (using endnote) in Week 7. Your unit coordinator will endeavour to comment on these with feedback. This is an opportunity to ensure that you are on the right track and that you are using an appropriate referencing format before you continue writing your assignment.
