(CDC, 2018, para. 1). Many people can control their emotions through emotional regulation which consist of two methods, Antecedent-focused and Response-focused strategies (Neck, 2020, P. 102).  The human resource (HR) department should support the implementation of wellness and preventive programs to foster mental health. McLean Hospital [MH] (2020) acknowledges the statistics from the American Psychiatric Association (APA), attributing a 35% decrease in productivity, leading to annual US economy loss of $210.5 billion in medical expenditures, reduced productivity, and absenteeism to unresolved depression among workforces. According to MH (2020), 80% of workforces reported high levels of job contentment and effectiveness after receiving appropriate care such as medication, skill-building, and therapy.  Even with the most well-organized business strategy, if the staff are suffering so will the company. Lyra Health partners with self-insured employers to provide services such as counseling, reduced copays for medications, and other wellness tools. The company reported a 50% decrease in turnover, a 70% increase in employee productivity, and overall healthier, happier employees (Artemis Health, 2021). These changes in employee satisfaction result in multiple benefits towards strategic goals.     Any business has to realize that their labor force is important to the overall strategy that they employ. Companies that employ proper measures to secure the mental well-being of employees have shown benefits with their methods. More individuals are developing mental issues, it has become important to consider more of the human resources that a business uses. References Artemis Health.
