Assignment 2. Group Report. About Report This report presents analysis of the competitors, marketing initiatives and implementation plans for digital marketing. This report is being presented by a group consisting of 3 members which are Nabin (984109), Sarita (982891) and Ashish (983277). Nabin has done all the introduction and problems and solutions in the UberEATS, and the PowerPoint related to same topic whereas Ashish has done all the drawbacks of UberEATS in different regions, mostly in rural areas and I(Sarita) have done all the mistake to innovate and redefined the competitive landscapes and innovating marketing initiatives. Introduction Uber eats is an app which works in both android and iOS and connects restaurants, delivery drivers and customers. There are three different parties in UberEATS · Restaurants: independent restaurants that offer on the Uber Eats website. Drivers who are willing to deliver orders from those restaurants are searched after by Uber Eats. · Delivery Drivers: drivers are independent and not connected to any restaurants. The food is picked up by drivers who then take it to the customer. · Customers: customers locate restaurants and place an order with them. Uber Eats is responsible for connecting all three of them. Some restaurants have their own delivery drivers like in Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc., but most of the restaurants do not. Uber Eats is a quite simple business. Uber Eats does not run a delivery service, does not directly employ drivers, and does not have any restaurants or delivery vehicles of its own. It links users with restaurants and charges both parties for the service. Customers benefit because they can quickly and easily place orders from hundreds or thousands of restaurants, giving them convenience and flexibility. They can search for foods they enjoy and browse meals and food selections without speaking to anyone on the phone. Direct orders are delivered to the door. Delivery drivers benefit because they can choose their own hours. The idea came up in 2014 by the Uber company. It was originally named Uber Fresh. After a year in 2015, it was renamed as Uber Eats. (PART DONE BY NABIN 984109) Problems And Solutions in the Uber Eats · Order Fees: Uber Eats charges a certain amount of fee when orders are below a certain amount. There are some factors which make the order fees expensive. It usually depends upon the time of day or the distance between the restaurants and the address of the customers. Uber eats charges fee from 15 % - 30 %. For example, If I order food from any restaurant for $20, then Uber Eats will take $6 and the owner of the restaurant will get the remaining $14. There are many alternative applications that charge less percentage order fees like Door Dash, Menu log, which applies around 11 – 15 percent. If Uber Eats reduces the percentage of the order fees, then the number of people using Uber Eats will increase rapidly. · No peak pay: Peak pay is not paid to the delivery drivers during peak hours. Peak hour is the time of the day when orders are usually in larger amounts i.e., at the time of lunch and dinner. If we order food at the time of dinner then the charge taken by Uber Eats is high, but the drivers are not given a certain percentage of the fee. They need to deliver food at the normal rate. All drivers schedule their ride at the peak hour time which is at the time of dinner or lunch. They receive a substantial number of orders currently, but drivers do not receive extra peak hour pay just like in Door Dash. Uber Eats should start the peak hour pay facility to the delivery drivers. · Application Crash: There are some problems in the Uber Eats application that I have faced personally. The map used by the app is not so easy and convenient to use like google maps. The application crashes sometimes in the middle of the delivery. This is the most problem faced by the users, the company should fix the software issue as soon as possible. Uber Eats should have option which application to use for the map. For example, some drivers are used to using Google Maps, some are good at using the map provided by Uber Eats themselves, some like to use Apple Maps. Also, the application should show the contact number of the restaurant and the customer because some of the addresses are so confusing, and some are in very rural places which is extremely hard for the drivers to find the exact location. There is an option of text message but If There is an option for contact numbers, it would be easier. · No Bonus: Once delivery drivers accepts the order from certain restaurant then it shows each information of the customer, number of items to be picked up, address of both the restaurants and the customer. Also, it shows the time to pick up orders from the restaurant and the time to be delivered to the destination location. If we deliver food before time or on time, drivers do not receive any kind of bonus or reward. Drivers should get certain amount of bonus or rewards who are regularly active in Uber Eats and delivers the food to the address of the customers before the time or at the time shown by the application. Uber Eats in Regional and rural areas: As we know, the app Uber eats runs only with proper internet connection. This means it requires a proper and stable internet connection while using the service. If we have some issues with our WI-FI connection or the connection of the device is fluctuated, then we might experience no service from the Uber Eats. The app does not respond to the customer until the data catches up. And we may not be able to order or view all the restaurants that we can order from in our area. Assuming there are no bug issues with the app, then the reason for non-responding of the App is network connection. And to fix such problems, we need an application to combine multiple internet sources into one super-connection for more stable and secure web browsing. We can do this by using Speedily. Here, speedily routes data when something happens to one of your connections. Speedily is available for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux device So, this can help to restore the data and help you to get connected to the Uber Eats. Also, the App must be linked with more restaurants and fast-food shops to get variety options for the customers. Since there are very few restaurants and shops in the regional parts, Uber Eats should be focusing more on their advertisement to get connected with the local restaurants and shops nearby the area. Redesigning and innovation Using design thinking approaches we can easily find the problems in any design and make an improvement for better use of it and make consumers more likely to use it. Redesigning is the process of visual upgrades and reframing it. We have chosen UberEATS for redesigning and making innovation for better performance which directly or indirectly helps users or consumers to use the services without any trouble. Some of the ways UberEATS can make an improvement or innovate it are as follows: · Competitive landscape There are different other food delivery services such as door dash, gobble, menu log and so on which create competitiveness among them. UberEATS has some drawbacks such as the charges for customers and business owners are much higher than any other delivery service, which helps to attract customers. · Marketing initiatives It is especially important that UberEATS communicates its brand effectively to tech-oriented customers. With the help of marketing, it can easily solve tactical solutions to attract more customers. It includes different other factors such as websites where they can post coupons and active deals for the restaurants to drive increased sales. (Part done by Sarita (982891) · Social media: UberEATS needs a stronger social media presence not only on Facebook but on other platforms as well to develop its customer base. Below is the summary of the number of Facebook users who like the various brands. We can easily generate customers' interest by requesting customers to share pictures of their favorites UberEATS moments. This will help personal engagement with the customers. · Emails: UberEATS can send emails and newsletters monthly to celebrate recent success or give customers noteworthy discounts. This helps users to be more active and generates benefits to the business. (Part done by Sarita (982891) References: Gizzi's,

Prototype
Description of prototype
The prototype is the rudimentary working model along with the information system that is built f
or demonstrating the purpose of the application as the part of the development process. In the SDLC, the prototype model is the basic version for the application that is built, tested and reworked till it provides a final design.
The above shown prototype includes multiple steps for development:
Understanding the problem
In the research, it has been found that there are multiple issues with the application of UberEats like UI issues and crashing of the application. The application should be simple with a simple interface that can easily be understood by users of different segments. It should be developed based on requirements and work according to the B2C market. It is important for the company to understand the requirements of customers. It will help in the process that allows us to uncover the purpose of the application (Mustapa et al. 2018). It can provide better understanding like understanding competitions, audience goals, and business goals and dive deeper in understanding features of the application. It is important for identifying the audience and solution that can help in defining the user journey for getting a great experience. It is one of the most important parts for designing the prototype and it will help UberEats in keeping up in the competition.
Identification of key functionality requirements
After identification of a problem, it is important to brainstorm requirements of the application that includes designing menu, database connectivity and other features that can help in improving the performance of the application. It is important for creating a list of features that can be ideal for the application. It required prioritizing items and it is important for targeting the audience. In the case of UberEats, it is important that customers can see the list of restaurants around with an estimated time of arrival that will help customers in selecting the restaurant based on urgency (Cha & Ahn, 2020). The search option is the most important feature that can...
